This is a gloriously substantial antique French wine cooler with scrolling art nouveau/belle epoque style handles. It has a really special, architectural shape and silhouette. Other than an ornate, faded monogram (I believe it reads PAG?) this has no makers mark. It is likely a heavy silver plate over brass or copper and is extremely sturdily constructed. Likely 1890-1910s.
It has a lovely patina all over, which could be polished up if you preferred. There is fading/wear to the monogram, and a more significant drip mark to the back, which I haven't aggressively tried to remove because the patina is so charming.
A really special find — truly an heirloom.
Measures 22x16cm (excluding handles) and weighs 2.6kg.
